| 2. | Deep LinkingLinks pointing to a web page other than your index page. |
| 3. | DelistingThe removal of a listing as a result of inaction or poor performance. |
| 4. | DescriptionThe description of a web site in a web directory or Search Engine. Human-edited web directories usually compose a description after reviewing the site. The description gives information about the website to users interested in the website. |
| 5. | Destination URLThe page to which a user is directed to when he clicks on the ad. |
| 6. | DirectoryA website that list other websites in their various categories. |
| 7. | DMOZA large directory of websites run by volunteers. Their database is used by
many website across the internet. Also referred to as the 'Open Directory Project'. |
| 8. | DomainThe name for a website e.g. SEO-Reloaded.com |
| 9. | Doorway PageSpecial highly optimised web pages that are created in order to rank well when a user enters a certain key phrase, or search term, into a search engine. Also known as Gateway pages and Hallway Pages. |
| 10. | Dynamic ContentMost URLs ending with .php, .asp, .cfm, .cgi or .shtml are serving dynamic content. Dynamic content pages are generated "on-the-fly" as a result of some action by the user. |
| 11. | Dynamic IP AddressAn IP address that changes each time you log onto the Internet. |
| 12. | Dynamic PageA page that generates content "on-the-fly" as a user requests the page. Most dynamic pages can be identified by ?, & and other characters in the URL. |
